The land of the Legend of the Lady of the Lake. Not just the birthplace of the Physicians of Myddfai, but in my opinion the most beautiful part of the Brecon Beacons Naitonal Park

Beginning at the base of Llyn – y – Fan Fach, the first 2Km of the walk is on gravel roadway and, whilst not particularly exciting in itself, takes us past a lovely babbling stream with a few pools and up to the lake.

At the lake we turn right and ascend to Waun Lefrith 677m. before following the ridge to the Trig Point at Picws Du (749m), we’ll descend to the top of the gully at Pant – y – Bwlch for a short refreshments break – and then a second ascend to Fan Foel 781m). Carrying on then to Fan Brycheiniog (802m), passing a lovely photo – opportunity en route, we’ll stop at the nearby ‘half bothy’ for a further short break

Finally we’ll round the base of Picws Du to return back to the lake.
