It’s a beautiful picture isn’t it. Running along the spine of the Preseli Hills – or the Preseli Mountains if you’re local – is one of the finest high ground walking ways in Wales. The Golden Road.

This gently undulating route, with views as far as Ireland, deep into South Wales, and north up the majestic arc of Cardigan Bay towards Snowdonia, links ancient monuments and burial places, cairns and rocky tors.

This is a pleasant walk over comfortable terrain. Nothing particularly taxing, with a decent pub for supper afterwards. For those not fancying the drive down on the day, camping and glamping is readily available in the same village as the pub.
